Eight Voices. A Historical Legacy. A Sign Against Forgetting.
Dunkelnacht is a play by youth for youth about the "Penzberg Murder Night" of 1945, civil courage, and the danger of turning a blind eye.
Eight young actors bring the award-winning novel by Kirsten Boie to the stage at St. Petri Church in Lübeck. Together, they tell the story of the last days of war in Penzberg: A time when anything seems possible – even for Marie, Schorsch, and Gustl. But the night becomes dark and long as the Nazi regime seeks to silence any resistance one last time.
After the performance, we invite you to a moderated thematic dialogue.
In conjunction with the performance, an exhibition on Lübeck's Stolpersteine will be shown at St. Petri.
