Privacy Policy of St. Petri zu Lübeck

Below we inform you about our data protection practices. Here you will find information about the type, scope and purpose of the collection, use and storage of personal data when using our website. We comply with the data protection law applicable to the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) and its churches and institutions in its currently valid version (EKD Data Protection Act).

We expressly point out that data transmission on the Internet (for example when communicating by e-mail) may have security vulnerabilities and cannot be completely protected against access by third parties.

Provider and Responsible Entity within the Meaning of Data Protection Law

Ev.-Luth. Kirchenkreis Lübeck-Lauenburg
St. Petri zu Lübeck
Pastor Dr. Bernd Schwarze

The use of the contact data published in our legal notice for commercial advertising is expressly prohibited unless we have previously given our written consent or a business relationship already exists. The provider and all persons named on this website hereby object to any commercial use and disclosure of this data.

Personal Data

You can visit our website without providing personal data. If personal data is collected, this is done on a voluntary basis. You have the right to revoke your consent to the storage and use of your personal data at any time with effect for the future. Your data will not be passed on to third parties without your explicit consent. If a contractual relationship between you and us is to be established, structured or modified, or if you submit an inquiry to us, we collect and use your personal data to the extent necessary for this purpose. All personal data will only be stored for as long as necessary for the respective purpose. Commercial and tax retention periods are taken into account. Upon order of the competent authority, we may provide information about this data in individual cases if this is necessary for the purposes of criminal prosecution, hazard prevention, fulfillment of the statutory duties of the constitutional protection authorities or the Military Counterintelligence Service, or for the enforcement of intellectual property rights.

Server Log Files

The provider collects and stores data about every access to this website. This data includes: name of the accessed website, file, date and time of access, amount of data transferred, notification of successful retrieval, browser type and version, operating system of the user, referrer URL, IP address and the requesting provider. This data cannot be assigned to a specific person.

Cookies

Our website uses an open-source analytics tool called Plausible to improve user experience. No cookies are set and no personal data is collected through this tool. Cookies are used when third-party services such as Bookingkit are utilized; however, this service must first be accepted on the website before cookies are set.

Integration of Third-Party Services and Content

We use content, services and features from third-party providers on our website, such as Google Maps. In order for this data to be displayed in your browser, it is necessary to transmit your IP address.

YouTube

For the integration and display of video content, our website uses plugins from YouTube. The provider of the video portal is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Avenue, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you access a page with an integrated YouTube plugin, a connection to YouTube’s servers is established. YouTube thereby learns which of our pages you have visited. If you are logged into your YouTube account, YouTube can directly associate your browsing behavior with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account beforehand. Details on the handling of user data can be found in YouTube’s privacy policy at www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy.

EmailOctopus Newsletter

If you would like to subscribe to the newsletter offered on our website, we require your email address and information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the specified email address and that you agree to receive the newsletter. To ensure consensual newsletter distribution, we use the double opt-in procedure. As part of this process, the potential recipient is added to a distribution list. The user then receives a confirmation email to legally confirm the registration. Only after confirmation is the address actively added to the newsletter distribution list.

We use EmailOctopus as our newsletter software. The service provider is the British company Three Hearts Digital Ltd., 86-90 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NE, United Kingdom. Following the United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the European Union, the GDPR no longer directly applies to data transfers there. However, the European Commission has decided pursuant to Art. 45 GDPR that the UK provides an adequate level of data protection comparable to the GDPR. Data transfer to the UK is therefore permitted.

For information on EmailOctopus’ privacy policy, please visit: https://emailoctopus.com/legal/privacy

You can revoke your consent to the storage of your data, especially your email address, and its use for sending the newsletter at any time, for example via the “unsubscribe” link in the newsletter.

Contact Form

Data transmitted via the contact form is stored for the purpose of processing your inquiry. The data will not be passed on to third parties without your consent. The processing of data entered into the contact form is based exclusively on your consent (§ 3 DSG-EKD). You may revoke your consent at any time. An informal email is sufficient for revocation. The legality of data processing operations carried out before the revocation remains unaffected.

Data transmitted via the contact form will remain with us until you request deletion, revoke your consent to storage, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies. Mandatory statutory provisions—especially retention periods—remain unaffected.

Google Maps

We use Google Maps from Google Inc. on our website. For the European region, Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) is responsible for all Google services. By using Google Maps, data is transmitted to Google and stored on Google servers. This includes, among other things, entered search terms, your IP address, and latitude/longitude coordinates. If you use the route planner, the entered starting address is also stored. This data storage occurs on Google Maps’ websites. We have no influence over this process.

Google sets at least one cookie (name: NID) in your browser when Google Maps is embedded on our website. This cookie stores data about user behavior. Google primarily uses this data to optimize its own services and to provide individual, personalized advertising.

Google processes data, including in the USA. Google participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which regulates the secure transfer of personal data from EU citizens to the USA. Google also uses Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2) and (3) GDPR) to ensure that European data protection standards are maintained even when data is processed in third countries.

If you would like to learn more about Google’s data processing, please refer to Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de

Spende.app

This website uses the donation tool spende.app from Digital.Wolff, Plötz & Co. GmbH, Berlin, integrated via an iFrame. An iFrame is a tool with a direct link to data entry on the website https://spende.app.

spende.app uses only the local browser cache and stores data only for as long as necessary for the current transaction. After completion, the entered data is no longer stored.

When processing a donation, only necessary information is collected to complete the payment transaction. For credit card donations, this includes card information and the cardholder’s address data. For SEPA direct debit, it includes bank account information and the account holder’s address data. The collection of address data is based on the EU Directive regulating payment services and providers.

Data is transmitted directly to the technical payment service provider VR Payment, Frankfurt (credit card, SEPA direct debit, Giropay), or in the case of PayPal, directly collected by PayPal Inc.

Processing and transmission of your data are based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract), Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legal obligation and legitimate interest), and, where applicable, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).

You have the right to revoke your consent to data processing at any time. Revocation does not affect the legality of processing carried out prior to the revocation.

Amendment of the Privacy Policy

To ensure that our privacy policy always complies with current legal requirements, we reserve the right to make changes at any time. This also applies if the privacy policy needs to be adapted due to new or revised services.

Further Information

We strive to store your personal data by taking all technical and organizational measures in such a way that it is not accessible to third parties. Complete data security cannot be guaranteed when communicating by email, so we recommend using postal mail or encrypted transmission for confidential information.

Our employees and commissioned service providers are obliged to maintain confidentiality and comply with statutory data protection regulations.
